What did you do differently on your second "once in a lifetime" visit?
We visited Florida for the first time this Easter. We spent five nights at POFQ with the quick service dining, then six nights in a villa on Anna Maria Island. Followed by 3 nights at Universal's Royal Pacific. For us it was PERFECT. Though probably not enough time at Disney or Anna Maria.
I can think of nothing else but going back and we have tentatively agreed to look at Easter 2021. We loved how we did it, so with a couple of tweaks - 7 nights Disney including upgrade to Dining package, 7 nights Anna Maria and 3 Universal...we might have the perfect hols. Except I'm also wondering about totally mixing it up and staying in a villa in Orlando or even on International Drive to get all the different dining options. I love all the different ways of doing it. Just wondering what people have done here the second (or thirs or fourth time round)? Have you changed it up completely? Or stuck to a tried and tested formula? Any regrets on changing it? |

On our second visit we did 21 nights in a Villa instead of 14 to factor in some rest/pool days. We had more time to do the parks more than once so saw more in each park. We love having a villa. We do a big supermarket and liquor store shop after dropping the cases in the villa then back to unpack the shopping, set up the bar, and unpack the cases. Then we chill on the deck with a drink. Its lovely to come back from a busy park day to swim and chill in your own pool. We can also cook when we want to and also do our washing when we want to. I love coming home with all clean clothes. We do book a 1 night stay at RPR to get the early start and front of line passes at Universal and this year we have booked 1 night onsite Disney for Hollywood Studios and Galaxys Edge. Personally it just works for our group of 9 and as our son and daughter in law live away its great for all the family to be together for more than a flying visit at the weekends.

Our 1st visit was 1 week on site and 1 week on I Drive, it felt let we were being "downgraded" (for lack of a better term) moving to I Drive. We now only ever stay on site but if not I would always leave Disney to last as we felt it was the peak of the holiday and nothing could top it.

Our first trip ( with the kids) we stayed at bahama bay for 2 weeks but had a two night stay at the contemporary- decided after this that onsite was the only was to go. Last year stayed 1 week onsite BC then a week in Clearwater- but felt rather jaded leaving the magic tbh as we didn’t feel ready to leave- so next year 2 weeks onsite at YC- woohoo!

Second visit wasn’t much different from the first except we slowed down the pace and stayed onsite for a night . but third and 4th are Disney only as the tickets are now just too expensive to justify a couple of days at universal plus there is so much to do at Disney we still haven’t done it all . Next time will probably just be universal.

We extended the stay and SLOWED down. I also lost SeaWorld/Busch from our plan. Now we take things slower and ensure we listen to the kids when they are tired etc.

Very similar, we stayed on I-Drive in the quality inn international on sand lake road. It was a bargain trip, but the feeling of downgrade is definitely there. Been back onsite since.

2nd trip was on a budget. I was celebrating my 2nd graduation. Kids were older so we did CRT as a splurge.
Rest was low key and relaxed. We didnt need to rush. We brought food into parks (picky asd kid i have complex llergies so alot easier to picnic) Then we did 4 days club level at HRH (which i d got on a glitch for 100 a night for 5...) |

Relax, sit, have a snack and let the workld go by. There is no need to go on every ride many many times.
Also spend more time in the pool relaxing |
