As others have said, space is the real bonus - we've always booked a villa with at least one bedroom more than we actually need so we've got somewhere to put suitcases, shopping etc. completely out of the way.
Once ours were teenagers they certainly didn't want to share bedrooms (apart from one night at a Universal hotel where we all shared a room) and in some villas they even had a bathroom each.

And nothing beats the sheer luxury and relaxation of taking three steps to go outside and sit by the pool in the evening under the lanai, drinking gin, reading a book and completely chilling out after a busy day of water parks and rides!

we went 2 weeks onsite with dining the first time and it was great as there was so much Disney to do. By the end we were pretty sick of all the food!

Last year 5 days onsite with dining then 9 days villa - we couldn't wait to get out of the hotel room and sleep in a bit and all have our own space! we found everyone waking each other early in the hotel room compared to the villa.

Bonus onsite is the free buses but offsite we didn't bother with a car - used Uber and it came to less than a car hire would have so don't feel you have to drive! Also probably not far off how long the buses take.

We were with Virgin so could get rid of the cases on the last morning - without that not sure what you could do (or do 1 day car hire for ~$30)

We stayed at disney last time but we are planning a villa next time as we felt like we were all in each other’s space too much living in a room together for two weeks.

We love having a villa, relax at night either by the pool or inside with lights on, no need to creep past someone asleep. We visit different restaurants, or just pick something up on the way home. We stay at Windsor Palms, which isn’t far from Disney. When we went last time our son and DIL decided to book a couple of nights at Disney, our granddaughter walked into the room and said “Is this it, just this room?” They have obviously been spoiled by holidaying in a villa each time.
