Mobile Booking Flights on a Visa Debit card

Hi everyone,

If I booked flights on my visa debit card would I be able to do a chargeback if things went pear shaped with the airline?

Thank you in advance!

You could request a chargeback but it is a voluntary scheme so no guarantee.

If you use a credit card it is covered under s75 which is a legal protection so you would get your money back

You would be able to start a Chargeback claim with your debit card provider, yes. There are certain terms and conditions and there's no guarantee that you'll get the money back but, yes, you can make a chargeback claim.

Based on some DIBBers' experiences following the loss of TC, it seems some people had an easier time of reclaiming the cost of flights using Chargeback than using Section 75.

Yep when it works chargeback is much quicker to process but there is no guarantee. S75 takes longer but is backed by legislation so a safer bet
