Price Matching

I've found some decent deals recently, but they're all from Gatwick and I live in Yorkshire. Obviously, our preference would be to fly from an airport up here, however, the saving more than justifies the additional travel time to London... I'd just rather not.

None of the other tour operators are anywhere close, even if you search from Gatwick. Is it possible to get one that operates from a closer airport to come down anywhere in the region of? Or am I wasting my time?

You can ask but why would the price match to a trip that isn't the same?

It's not actually price matching if the product/service is the same.

Good luck, but I don't fancy your chances.

Anyone that offers it would only be on a like for like basis.

I don't fancy your chances.

I get that it's not a like for like basis, hence the reason I was asking if it was a waste of time. I was hoping someone had tried and had any luck or a resolute no. I'll chance it

It's only called "price matching" when a different company offers to sell exactly the same thing as another company for the same price. That is, if one tour operator offered to reduce their price for flights from Gatwick to match the price that another tour operator was advertising for flights from Gatwick then that would be "price matching".

In this case, it sounds like you want the airlines to offer cheaper prices for flights from an airport in the north of England and at prices similar to those from Gatwick. Unfortunately, I doubt airlines or tour operators would do this. Also, it would only happen if the airline actually flew from the airport in the north rather than just Gatwick.

BTW, you can get reasonable prices if you fly to Gatwick and then onwards from there. Have you consider that?

Yes, I’ve considered the connecting flights but driving the night before and stopping in a hotel would likely be easier since Manchester flies to Heathrow then you have to make your way to Gatwick. Like I said tho, the price difference is worth the inconvenience.

I tried my luck but virgin said they couldn’t get anywhere close for Gatwick never mind Manchester. Tui said they don’t price match in any instance.

DH has thrown an extra spanner in the works and said we can splash out on the extra and stop onsite at Disney at a moderate hotel...whoooop! Need to figure out what is best
