Mobile Any recommendations for Alamo short bookings?

Looking at prices for 2020 summer and only thinking of having a SUV for first 3-4 days to get from airport to hotel and a bit of shopping etc before moving on to Universal (drop car off before checking into RPR).

Prices are coming out a lot more than expected (over £200).

Any suggestions on who to check with? I initially looked at DFCH.

Also a 1 day booking is equally high to get back to the airport so may need to try Uber or Mears maybe?

will first off, book where you have no cancellation fee.

I would suggest you checked Andy at DFCH
you can book without a deposit, and no cancellation fee. So you're just locking your price in, at no cost.

then work the usual suspects (VA, Brits, DFCH, netflights, usacarhire and more ...) and rebook/cancel whenever the price goes down

you might find out that, in the week before your trip, a lower price appears, but you don't want to wait that late.

lock a price in, and check regularly, and work your price down as rates change.

It was DFCH I originally checked (as used Andy before), but it was high, in fact when I looked at 2 week booking, Alamo was very expensive compared to Virgin (about £400 more)

Will shop around the usual suspects, thanks

Autoeurope has free cancellation and amendments up to 48 hours before I believe.
I've always managed to get a cheaper booking with them compared to others, they seem to have a sale a few days each month on each company so you can book at one price and amend whenever a sale happens.
With Uber or Lyft check the cost beforehand online so you get a rough idea for comparison against the hire car
