Taking food through security
Flying in a couple of weeks and we've never taken food through security before so this may sound a silly question to some!
Can anybody give me a brief rundown of what is allowed please with possible examples. Thinking just snack stuff mostly like Pringles sweets and cereal bars |

Do you mean taking food into the USA? If so this explains things completely - and the financial risk if you don't declare.
help.cbp.gov/s/article/Artic...language=en_US Or do you mean simply on to the plane in the UK for consumption on the plane? Basically you can take what you like but make sure you leave any meat, fish, dairy and fruit on the plane. Mick

If you're flying from LGW there's an M&S food landside at both terminals and also Boots airside (where you can also get drinks)

how are the american security with taking snacks for on the plane on the way home, as i have never done this, but I know the food is far worse on the way back and my daughter will get hungry, so thinking of getting some sort of breakfast for her like a croissant or similar

Sorry we've never done that but the food options airside at gates 70-99 at MCO have increased in the last couple of years. However please don't confuse the word "options" with "quality". The web site lists them all but I recall having hot dogs and fries at Nathans in April. Bahama Breeze, Outback and BK as well. Also sadly a very dire sandwich shop.
Nowhere near this choice at SFB I don't think but we haven't left there for over 10 years. Mick

Thanks Mick, the last time we were there was 4 years ago and I think it was only starbucks and outback, so nice to have a bit of choice

If you are only taking food for on the plane and not intending to take uneaten food off the plane then your only consideration is whether it is liquid - remembering that pastes such as jam count as liquids.
