Sending a received email as an attachment in Gmail

If I could do this it would be such a blessing. I have googled it a couple of times and tried the answers, without success. 😧. Can anyone help please?

It's not something that you would typically do.

You can forward the email or

You could print it as a PDF and then attach the PDF.

Attaching an email as an email would be unusual and it would be in a format that is hard to open.

Thanks Bev. I think I will photocopy it and attach that, as you suggested.

Perhaps use the "print as a pdf" option and then send it attached that way?

It's relatively easy in a web browser from a PC/Laptop, don't think you can do it from an app on the phone, at least I've never seen a way.

When you click compose, likely the window will open covering about 80% of the screen, what you need to do is click on the icon top right, second from the right, that looks this (it'll say "exit full screen" when you hover over it)

You do not want to pop out the compose window as I have seen a lot of people suggest.

Once you click this the window should shrink to the bottom right hand corner, taking up about 1/4 of the screen.

Your inbox (or any other mailbox) is now still visible. You can search, page forward/backward, select labels, anything that you would normally do.

Find the email you want to attach and drag it into the compose screen. Once you start dragging it you will see it changes to a dashed line box with 'Drop emails here' written in it.

You can even drag multiple emails at a time by ticking the checkbox at the left on the ones you require. Once you start dragging them, they all attach in one go.

You can attach as many as you like subject to the normal gmail conditions, 25MB size or greater gets split to a google drive link.

The emails will come through to the recipient as attachments and will open as normal emails, never had an issue with that.

I do find it a very convenient way of 'forwarding' lots of emails at one go

You can do this , from a browser open mail.google.com then access your email . on the far rigth there are 3 dots , towards the bottom of the list you will see 'download message. click on this and it will save your email as an eml file which you can then attach to a new email if you wish. If you double click it opens in your email app.

Just discovered an even easier way.

Select the emails you want to forward, then click on the 3 dots at the top, there's an option there to forward as attachment.
