Indirect flight with virgin

We have taken an offer from virgin to switch to an indirect flight from Orlando to atlanta then onto Manchester as our flight was full in economy, we now fly with delta from Orlando to atlanta but virgin home to Manchester, we dont know who we checkin with at the airport delta or virgin, we still have a virgin ref number, has anyone done this flight and know who we checkin with, thanks for any advice

I think we checked in at the Virgin desk at MCO before flying to JFK with Delta

I’ve always checked in with Delta even though we booked with Virgin. If Virgin can book you in, I suspect it will be quicker as everytime I’ve checked in with Delta at MCO it has been manic.

I hope you got something for your inconvenience, cabin upgrade, partial refund, at least some miles?

Check in with Delta. They are great and much more relaxed than the Virgin staff, we found. They offered to check in all our cases too, even though we only paid for hand luggage only. No weighing, no questions, just got on with it. In the past we were given cabin upgrades and cash to change flights!

You check in with whoever’s plane you’re flying on first.

Why did you do this? Had there been some delay/cancellation with your booked flight?

They said in the post they took an offer from Virgin as economy was sold out on their flight (oversold).

I’m sure it was a nice offer of compensation.
