I got an upgrade "G" to "H", had four choices on the app, as well as my original booking.
I might be strange, but I like American saloons, not big 4x4 trucks.
Changed to a Cadillac, really enjoyed it.

I looked at the app information and it looks like you need to select car more than 2 hours before hire starts? Ours starts approximately when our plane is due so presume we won't get choice?

I've not read that, I picked up the bags, the wife had a comfort break and I selected the car. We then went down the escalators and into the garage, the car was in the designated space with the keys in.

We are going again in a couple of weeks, and have got the car booked with Avis, I'll let you know how we get on. I'll try and "screenshot" my phone for the app selections.

Very nice offer, thanks, but we are due there next week.

I'll update you.

Just thinking about when I changed the car with Avis app, we landed at 16:56, did immigration and got the luggage.

I did take a screenshot of my choice, and that was at 17:46. I didn't have any problems changing the car. It wasn't two hours before we collected it, on the Avis invoice hire start time was 17:45. I hope you get to choose your car, I found it a real bonus.

Many thanks. That's really helpful.

I looked again and the only reference to at least 2 hours was on a UK site.

Maybe not relevant to this.

An offer to upgrade would be nice if they don't want a lot per day.

Thanks again.

I got a free upgrade from F to S which I am very happy about.

There was just 1 car available.

It's a Mazda CX90 which seems nice.
