My trip sadly got cancelled, as it was supposed to be a few weeks ago, but I will share what we had booked with you! We were planning to fly into Miami and spend one night in Homestead (just north of the keys) to save a long drive in case of any delays. Then we were going to drive to Key West for 2 nights, Marathon for one night and then Key Largo for one night. We were then going to drive up to Disney.

Lots of hotel switching, but we do a lot of road trips and I like to maximise the time in each destination and not spend the time travelling back and forth to a central hotel. It also meant we could park at the hotel in Key West to save the hassle of finding parking. Key West is expensive to stay in, but the other two weren't TOO expensive... The Keys are not cheap!

We are planning to do a similar trip in 2022 (seems so far away... sob), but may add an extra night onto the Keys so we can fit in everything we had planned

Yes, I hope it still goes ahead, we get there on the saturday, so will be the last night, we are also doing biketoberfest, as you can tell we like things abit wild! 😂

Ha ha that Saturday was going to be our first night too but cancelled the room. Hope it still goes ahead for you, bit gutted but always next year, had my outfits all planned and ready, lots of glitter and sparkles 😕

We stayed just outside Miami for two nights, and drove in. We parked right near the beach and paid $20 for the day in a guarded car park.
We then stayed in Key Largo - Hampton Inn. It was one of the friendliest hotels we have ever stayed in, all the staff were so lovely. They feed the iguana s every day and have so many in the grounds of the hotel.
We used the free kayaks and saw manatees, including a calf with her mum.
Not the poshest place to stay, but with the free breakfast - I wouldn’t hesitate to return here.
The snorkelling trip from John Penn State Park was an amazing experience and would also definitely recommend this.
