New DDP Rules

As long as it’s done in the same transaction, you may now substitute any dessert or non-alcoholic beverage for a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.

Does this mean you can swap your dessert for a snack in THAT restaurant or does it mean you can swap the dessert for a snack credit that you can then use somewhere else?

This change came in last year and it has to be done at the restaurant where you're eating.

It's only for QS meals too. So you can sub a dessert and a drink for something else that's classed as a snack. For example, we got the large pizza from POR food court and subbed dessert for fries.

Still great though as QS desserts are often pretty pants

In the mara and I assume other resorts qs they have lots of candy, cookies, trail mix bags, mickey shaped crackers aswell as usual bakery desserts. So we would use our refill mugs and if we didn't want dessert swap the drink and dessert for two bags of sweets (bags were $5.49 each) dd is giving them to her friends as gifts. We also often swapped the dessert for a tub of soup. They also had side salads, tubs of crudités and hummus and tubs of fruit in the fridge as sides instead of dessert.
