Formal & semi formal nights (what to wear)

So I will start Monday with a stupid question

First time cruise on Fantasy soon, what to wear on formal nights?
I been told various things from 'suit and 'dickie' to 'don't bother just wear shorts and t shirt' and 'nice pair of trousers and a 'nice' shirt.?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in! On our formal night a couple of weeks ago on Magic, some people dressed right up as if they were going to a society do, others wore smart trousers and a shirt / a nice dress or skirt and blouse for the ladies. On formal night I didn't see anyone in shorts. The characters all wear their formal attire, so its nice to get some photos of everyone looking spiffy!

Like Claire says, you'll see all kinds.

For me personally, I'm a jeans and tshirt girl but on formal night, I may put a pair of trousers on and a nicer top.
Mick normally wears trousers and a shirt, not a posh shirt, just a normal nice shirt. Some men wear ties, but honestly ... there is no right or wrong really (apart from no swim wear, vest tops or swim cover ups).

If you like your photos with the characters, then on formal night, you may (or may not) like the photos better if you're dressed up a little.

And we would probably dress the same, thats assuming DW's dress fits me OK
