Disney Dream cruise staterooms
What rooms did you pick and why. We are only going for three nights and wondered, if the cheapest option would be good enough. My husband thinks we should go for a dearer room, with a varrandah, I think it might be a waste of money for only three nights. May I have your opinions , please.

IMO it's a waste of money. On a three night cruise, as a first time cruiser, you're not going to be sitting on a veranda. There's so much you'll want to do you'll only be in your cabin to sleep. For a week, then that's a different story.

I agree; in my opinion a verandah would be a waste on a 3 night as there is so much to do and explore you won't be in your room much. You could go for an ocean view (i.e. With a porthole) if you really don't want an interior.

I have just done my second cruise on carnival, I agree you would waste your money, there is so much to do.

We had a verandah in a 4 night Disney cruise last year and tbh I loved it. Do much so that I am taking the girls to Norway (without DH) and have booked a cabin with a balcony. Each to their own. It's fabulous whatever you do

It is lovely to wake up each day and throw back the curtains to see a different land outside, then get a coffee and watch, if you're up early enough,
the day starting. Which could be the ship sliding in to port. Interesting. |

Must admit we love the verandah. Somewhere to sit in the morning with a coffee and look at the sea or where we have docked or with a drinky in the evening with the warm Bahamian breeze on you. Bliss. But as everybody says each to their own. Our kids are adults now and we are happy to chill back at the stateroom.

My opinion is to pick an inside cabin near to the areas you will use most, if its a warm weather cruise I would suggest deck but one from pool and buffet (not immediately under as may get noise from the deck above).
In the mornings you can get coffee from the buffet and then find a quiet area on the pool deck to drink it as you dock. Its also easy to get snacks and take them back to the room and to get the things you forget when you are at the pool (or the rest of the family forgets). On our first cruise we were deck 2 and it was always me the went back to the buffet on deck 14 to get the ketchup or back from the pool also on deck 14 for the sun cream, pen, book etc! Spend the money saved on treats on board. Totally agree with poster above who says on your first 3 day cruise you won't be in the room much expect for sleeping and getting changed / showered etc. Gillian |

I had a verandah room on the 3 night Disney last year. Loved it. We had breakfast on the Verandah, we would sit and talk in the evenings on the Verandah, you would find one of us sitting out there whilst the other got ready/changed/showered/waited to wake up etc. I loved it.
