You book for the package, not just a standard meal. Once there, you'll then get paper vouchers for the Fantasmic show that evening. That gives you access to a VIP seating area to watch the show from. The seating itself is the same as all the seating in the arena, but you are seated in the centre so get a great view.

It's different to dinner shows like Hoop Dee Doo and Spirit Of Aloha which are 2TS credits as those are shows specially put on whilst you eat and include alcohol and tips too. Fantasmic is on every day for anyone to watch - the dining package just gives you access to the VIP seating area. There are 3 restaurants to choose from to suit different people, tastes and budgets. Hollywood Brown Derby is a signature restaurant, so it's a bit more adult with fine dining, whereas Hollywood and Vine is a buffet and very child orientated. Mama Melrose is an Italian restaurant that sits in the middle of the 2. If you want somewhere a bit more adult (although there will be children in there too, most likely), then go for Hollywood Brown Derby.

We've done Mama Melrose twice and thoroughly enjoyed it and like to get the VIP seating for the show. You can just book a normal ADR at these restaurants too (for the same number of credits as the dining package), but you won't get the seating voucher for the show.

The show and seating is the same regardless of which restaurant you choose. You can also watch Fantasmic by not eating at any of them and either getting a fastpass for a different reserved seating area, or just join the general queues and go in and find a seat in the rest of the arena. Fantasmic itself has universal appeal.

Does that help a bit?
Yes thank you so much for taking time. Just final thing is about show itself, does it have universal appeal or is it more for the little 'uns?

Definitely universal appeal. If anything, I think it's a bit more adult as it references classic films more than the new ones and is based around the Sorcerers Apprentice. Definitely worth seeing at least once so you can decide if it's for you or not

I had Fantasia on video (remember them!) many years ago. Certainly that was not a child's option. Now just to find a day to swap something out..

Thanks for all the info, this really helps us too since we were thinking of booking the fantasmic package. 😃

Hiya, what time is the fantasmic show on? Is there an ideal time to book your meal for so you have time to eat and then not too much waiting around till when the show starts? Thank you for your help

The show time varies depending on the time of year, and there are sometimes 2 shows. Whenever we've been it's tended to be around 8-8.30pm. The fantasmic package isn't really designed for you to eat and then go in to the show. It's hard to get evening reservations, so we normally have a late lunch then spend the rest of the day in the park before grabbing some snacks and going to the show.
