Sorry, but this says more about you than the people that eat in "these places".

We first used ponderosa 16 or so years ago and realy liked it ,it was clean and welcoming and the buffett choice was amazing, we went this year and were very very disappointed, not what it was ,not surprised it has closed.

I think we all probably have a soft spot for the first breakfast buffet chain that we visited - can you remember when you went up to the buffet and couldn't quite believe how 'exotic' the breakfast choices were - fried chicken, fruit crumble, jellies and puddings - and all of this for BREAKFAST? And so cheap!

It's never as good as your first visit (Shoney's AL, c.2002 if you're wondering )

Yes we often still as a family laugh about Ponderosa breakfasts of long ago!

In particular the cubes of bright blue jelly our eldest once selected, in bowl with a few spoons of sweetcorn!

Golden Corral is only the place we go for a buffet, but even then I hate it.

I never normally have OCD, but when we visited once during Memorial Day, I couldn't get out the place fast enough. It was heaving and food was everywhere!

I did the exact same thing my very first time encountering Ponderosa breakfasts! My Mum laughed when I returned to the table with a plate of bacon, eggs, baked beans, bright blue and red jelly cubes and cake! I was only 9 years old though.
