Uber option with Car Seat

Just seen that Uber now offer cars with car seats! Has anyone used this? How do you know if the car seat is age appropriate? I can't see on the app where you would state the age of the infant or child.
This option would be fab for us, we don't drive and have a 3 year old.

All Uber's are private vehicles, there isn't a standard model. Uber family has one car seat, but you can't specify age etc.

Uber Car Seat provides uberX vehicles equipped with a car seat.

To request Uber Car Seat, tap the 'car seat' option after selecting the uberX vehicle type. A $10 surcharge is added to uberX pricing for Uber Car Seat trips.

This may help you:

Uber Car Seat provides one forward-facing car seat for a child who is at least:
(a) 12 months old AND
(b) 22 lbs. AND
(c) 31 inches.

A child is too big at 48 lbs. or 52 inches.

We used it last year for my grandson who was 18 months very easy to book one driver called to ensure he had correct car seat for us

So did you have to pay $10 extra per trip?

never noticed the charge if we did it was included in the fare estimate not a separate charge
