When we priced Uber is wasn't to bad but the price will be split 4 ways so it wont be to bad. Even going a distance $200 between 4 $50 each so not so bad It really depends on how many are travelling in the Taxi, and of course the price at the time because it can be the lower or higher price that is charged. I created a spreadsheet with destinations and what the highest charge would be and then used to to work out what needs to be put away for travel expenses.

We are staying at the all star sports restort.
I think we've narrowed it down to hiring a car to go to Busch gardens and for a shopping day as it there would be no way to use the app to order the uber as it would cost a fortune.

After Halloween horror night finishes would there be plenty of Uber's ready to go or would there be a long wait?

Who knows, it depends how many drivers decide to work, I bet it will be surge pricing though. If it's really bad you can always bite the bullet and get a regular Mears taxi.

Perhaps not much more if it costs them $375 plus parking and petrol for just 4 days. Some of that will be a standard charge and insurance and some the daily charge.

Maybe this would be a cheaper alternative?

orlandoescape/buschga...sportation.htm

Hi,

Sorry it's a bit late, but on our recent trip (2 adults, 2 weeks), staying on iDrive, Uber cost us £375 when converted.

We went to parks every day - and often if we went to Disney early in the day, we went to Universal Citywalk of an evening (or DS if we'd been at Universal). The only time we didn't use it was our day at Busch Gardens, as we had a free Mears coach.

Only surge was one night after Fantasmic I believe, and that was only 1.2 surge. Longest wait we had was 8 minutes.

This works out far cheaper than a car would've and we LOVED being dropped at the park entrances rather than having to do the long walks to the car. It also meant we were always free to have a drink together. We met a few great drivers (including a Cast Member!) who gave us great advice and reccommendations.

Had we had kids with us, I think a car would be the way to go - but for us, this was perfect.

Hi DJS88
Sorry to hijack thread but did you use Uber XL from MCO Airport to International Drive?

We did, off the top of my head it was circa €40. I believe you can get a normal Uber from the hotel that's linked with the airport, but by the time we'd got through immigration we just wanted to get the hell out of there!

BTW - Though I've said uber, we used a mix of this and Lyft, which we got ride credits for. €20 which they split up into €5 each ride. So some of our Universal trips cost less than a dollar!x

Thanks
