Accidently drove in Disney Bus Lane - help
I am back from my holiday now, however on the 2nd night we were there when we were leaving the surface parking from Disney Springs on Saturday night I followed the 2 cars in front of me and before I noticed they had turned into the Bus lane in the middle. The car behind me also turned into the bus lane so I couldnt stop and reverse Out.
All 4 cars then drove to the next exit where we joined the correct road just before the queue started. Does anyone know if I will be fined because of this? There are no signs up saying what the fine is or anything. It was an accident and I didn't skip any queues etc and got out of the bus lane as soon as possible? Has anyone else accidently drove in the bus lane? Edited at 01:35 PM. |

I had a look at them last November and even though they weren't finished I felt it would have been easy to enter one by mistake.
I'm sure there is no penalty unles maybe the local Sheriff saw the incident. Nothing coming up on a Google search either. Personally I would put it down to experience and forget about it.

I hope your right, I kinda figured it must happen all the time.
I emailed Disney guest services to ask them, however I received no response. |

As it stands at the moment the bus lanes do not have infringement cameras and you would only receive a ticket if seen by the sheriff, if this was the case the ticket would be given on the spot.
The bus lanes have specialized traffic signals, in addition to, red striping at the entrance and exit of all lanes, raised curbs, and “Bus Only” signage.

Disney normally tells the Sherrif to go easy on tourists as well, so even if you did get caught you probably would have had a telling off. It's CM's speeding that cause most accidents on property- they are the main ones they are looking out for.

Thanks for your responses, I sore how obvious it is later in the holiday but when Disney Springs is busy on a Saturday night and there were no cast members out helping traffic it gets a bit crazy.
I was just in the mindset of following the traffic in front of me, that's the last time that will happen as clearly you cant trust other drivers. Edited at 09:11 AM. |

Having just returned after a month over there I can certainly empathise with you.
Even though we hadn't been since November 2015 we were surprised to see how many road works were on Buena Vista Drive around the DS area - they are obviously extending the central bus lanes. I also got caught out with lanes disappearing or "this lane must turn right" signs suddenly appearing. We nearly always approach WDW property via the Osceola Parkway and there was also a great deal of construction on the OP between the slip road onto World Drive and Victory Way. A new slip road into HS has also appeared there since we were there. Mick
