In-direct flight changed - half an hour layover!

Just had an email that our return flight ( Orlando to Atlanta then Atlanta to Heathrow) has been changed from 1 1/2 hour between flights to 1/2 an hour!

I have called the place we booked the flights and they are going to call me back in the next few days...

My question is this - what normally happens? we need to not change the time we arrive back in the UK so the flight from orlando to atlanta...

Anyone had this happen?

This happens quite regularly. Don't wait for the TA to call you back. Have a look at alternatives that you would be happy with whether that be out of Orlando flying via another airport or maybe a direct flight from Orlando or another Florida airport.

Then when the TA calls you will know what you want and can request from the TA rather than have an unacceptable change thrust upon you.

Thanks - It is just a flight thought not the whole holiday as we have booked separately.

I'd still be looking at alternatives that are suitable 1/2 hour is just not doable

Just checked and there is a delta flight every hour from orlando to atlanta!

It looks like we where bumped to the last flight of the day - so have asked to be put back on the earlier flight ( 1hour 40 mins layover)

I think that is sensible although unless there is a change of terminal you don't need to go through security again so it might just be doable.

However far too many variables could cause problems to accept that

Ok got to the bottom of the mess

Delta had moved our flight home an hour earlier - hence the lack of time between flights - we are now leaving Orlando an hour earlier now giving us 1hour 40 min layover... plenty of time

for the record, Minimum Connection Time at ATL, for a domestic to international is 40 minutes (and maybe 50 depending on the inbound flight configuration)

so OP's connection of 30 minutes was illegal to begin with.

Thanks - it was sorted quickly by the flight centre.

It's only when I went on the site to book seats did it flag up!
