Mobile If you could choose to learn any new skill...?

If you could choose to learn any new skill at all, what would it be? Do you have a burning desire to learn something, anything at all, no matter how outrageous or otherwise?

For some while now, I have had the inkling to learn to play the ukulele! Ever since I heard Joe Brown play "I'll See You In My Dreams", which he performed at a concert in memory of George Harrison, I've thought I'd love to have a go, despite being the ripe old age of 55 (but what's age got to do with it?!) So much so, I'm thinking of asking DH to get me one for Christmas. I'd love to hear your ambitions!

I'd love to be able to cook really well or play the piano. We have a piano as the kids intended learning but it has just become an ornament. Maybe I should think about it

I would love to be able to plaster. I teach and my work is never done. I would like to plaster walls so I could see a finished job. Plus I've spent A LOT of money on having our house replastered over the years so that would save me a bit. 😊

I spoke to a guitar teacher recently and she said that the ukulele is a really good instrument to learn.

I learned to crochet a few years ago, although I could already knit and sew.

I always wanted to be able to play piano, and I'm going to learn once I have more time on my hands. Both my kids play instruments and are in various bands/orchestras, and I am blown away by some of the talented youngsters.

Funnily enough, my DD is playing her ukelele as I am writing this. Her whole class learned together in Year 4 and she got one that year for Xmas and has taught herself since then. At one of DS' school music concerts, a group of 6th formers had formed a ukelele group for fun and performed "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" - it was fantastic.

My daughter taught herself guitar watching you tube tutorials, she's brilliant and picked it up quickly. I would love to learn Italian.

I'd like to learn to be an electrician! I have just ordered an electric cooker and will need to have it hard wired or something to the connection unit. Just knowing what that is alone, would make it worth it, lol! I'm far from house proud, but a lot of projects now need doing. It would be lovely if I knew a trade, so I could get going with them. I've just gone into project management, so not very useful practically for all of this, lol!
