Coin bags
Can someone pls tell me whether I can mix 1ps and 2ps in a bag to be cashed in at the bank? Or whether they need to be only 1ps and only 2ps in each. Thank you!

They have to be separate.

If your bank has a coin machine they won't need to be bagged up just pour them straight into the machine. We don't accept them over the counter anymore.

We have been saving £2 coins in a tin for our holiday. Hopefully we will be able to pay these in easily or we'll be walking round LHR with heavy pockets.

I have a right job getting the banks to accept them where I live. My local Lloyds branch did and so I'd been putting my kids spends in there. It closed down last week😩😩

My local branch of NatWest takes bags as long as it's not in the busy lunch time period.

Here in Northern Ireland it's the old 'high street' banks that accept bagged coin. It's the old 'building societies' that don't seem to accept it.
I worked in a bank for 21 years. Coin cannot be mixed in bags. If you don't have a full bag, simply write the amount on a slip of paper and put it in the coin bag. The cashier will probably count it anyway. At least you will get rid of it. |

I'm presuming they don't have a coin machine then. We only take loose change for bill payments etc. The coin machine was put in as part of the changes alongside not having cashiers etc.
Anyone needing coin ie shops etc have to fill a form in and order it the day before. This can be done online also. It's all about the Digital Era. You will find many local branches closing and and all the remaining ones being manned by CDM's SDM's Business Drop Off's and Coin Machines. It's a change in banking unfortunately.
