After all the nice wishes from you guys, all was quiet on the western front today. Weight was down about 1.5 pounds on the week so things not going well on that score, but no other news forthcoming. Maybe as the Gp wasn't in today , so maybe the willows are waiting until DDs therapy appointment ( and re-weigh ) on Wednesday to discuss her with the Gp
Of course , we could be jumping the gun. We really don't know when they may think hospitalisation is the best bet, and then maybe waiting for a local-ish bed if they consider not urgent She is still 2 stone heavier than when she first went into hospital but currently losing over a pound every week seems to lead to only one ultimate outcome . And of course , the sooner they can get her in and turn her round , the shorter her stay will be , which will be better for all concerned It's a shame as college is going well, she got an A, a B and a D in her mocks ( effectively year 1 of a levels ) which I think is amazing really

Well the positive there is the college, Sounds like she's doing really well..
I read something the other day about a petition for early intervention for eating disorders, People like your DD who would benefit now rather than further down the line. The strain on you all must be immense. |

Not posted for a while but thought a little update was in order. Unfortunately DDs weight has continued to drop. From about 9 stone 2 when discharged from hospital in early January to about 7 stone 9 today. A loss of a stone and a half. 21 pounds in about 20 weeks.
I have been expecting the " hospital call" for a while but after a " no loss" week the week before last, we were told last Monday nothing would be done for 2-4 weeks, then it turns out the loss to Wednesday was 0.9kg so they have changed their mind and are now sending DD for an assessment with the consultant at priory cheadle for a potential further inpatient stay. To be honest , I think I am quite glad. We have been warning DD about likely hospitalisation for weeks, and yet she has been unable to halt the slide. Maybe this " threat" will make it appear more real and make something trigger in her head , it may make her turn the corner without her needing to go into hospital. If not, think I would prefer her to go to hospital now/soon rather than in another 2-3 months when she is down at dangerous weight levels and when it would be a harder / longer journey back. This way, she could potentially have recovered enough in 3 months or so to be able to go to college a few days a week come the Autumn, even if she is still in hospital. Leave it another couple of months , and she may as well say goodbye to college. ( I realise college isn't the key thing here, but it is normality )

I am so sorry for you. I have followed this post from the start although I have never posted. It is so difficult being a parent, we continually beat ourselves up about decisions we make and professionals make about our children. My ds (he has Aspergers) began self harming when he was 13, it was an awful rollercoaster with him being on suicide watch at he age of 16. It was awful and I felt like the worst parent in the world. He is now coming up 20, living away from home and doing really well at uni studying for a computer programming degree. Times do get tough but I am certain your dd will come out of it the other side. Support from parents is vital, although at times you feel like screaming at them. I completely know how you feel though when a decision is taken out of your hands, you do feel relieved but then feel guilty for feeling that way. Stay strong. You will all be in my prayers x x I wish your dd all the very best.

I'm sorry its not better news for you all.
Lets hope the threat of another stay triggers something with her, I can see what you mean about her being admitted now though rather than let her slip further down. How did her exam go? |

so sorry that your update doesn't bring more positive news. I hope the assessment happens quickly and they are able to intervene sooner rather than later.
