Bit the bullet, just changed to Aug 2021
Hi all
After much discussion in the family group of 14, we finally today changed our upcoming August holiday to next August with Virgin Holidays. They have been very helpful in the group bookings team and have been able to keep the prices as low as possible but still charged the £50pp amendment fee even though we tried hard to persuade them to consider waiving it for such a large booking! But guess they're trying to recoup what they can right now. If anyone has any questions that I might be able to help with, I'm happy to try. I have spent 2 weeks looking for new prices and quotes for best days of travel etc, so have gained some knowledge of current prices. Now to the new countdown and the start of planning all over again... Which I actually love! Keep safe all and thanks everyone who answered my many questions during this time. xxxx |

Yes, the last 2 days I'm thinking it will be impossible for us to go this August, 2 of us in the more vulnerable group, we'd just worry all the time even if we could go.
Are you staying onsite? We have free dining at POFQ and I'm wondering if we have to wait for free dining to be released for 2021. Also, our flights are with BA and a hotel booking for 3 nights in Tampa with BA, but booked direct with Disney for our onsite stay.

How did you contact VH? Was it easier because it was a group booking? We’re wanting to change our booking but we’re aware it’s difficult to get a response from VH

I would also be interested to hear how you got through to VH as we want to either cancel our August Trip or rebook for next year. Trying all routes so far no luck. Just waiting in line to hear! Thanks.

We also have 2 vulnerable family members and 2 in the over 70s so we know this August just wouldn't work and our holiday is all about the theme parks with the kids, so don't want to chance them being closed or not open to internsriobak guests etc
We're staying in a villa, so no hotel bookings for us x Hope you get a good offer to change x |

I emailed the original Virgin Holidays Groups advisor who booked our holiday last year for us and she had an automatic reply stating to email the groups team. But I was given the Virgin Holidays WhatsApp number too and they responded pretty quickly... That's 0203 322 3289
Or you can try the groups email, they may respond or give you an alternative to try. Groups@virginholidays.com Hope this helps x |

Excited about Disney

You have the same kind of holiday booked that we have booked for this July. We’ve just started to dismantle our holiday- we took a voucher for the BA flydrive deposit we paid, and we’re now waiting for Disney to announce the free dining plan. We have until 28th May to amend or lose the deposit with WDW travel company. I don’t want to go this summer, it’s a lot of money for something that doesn’t feel right.

Sorry to jump on your thread. But it's reassuring to hear that others are waiting for the 2021 dining plan to be released. We are booked for late July flying with Virgin (from Gatwick...). Feeling very anxious about getting it sorted. Do you know how much it is to cancel or amend after the 56 days beforehand deadline? I should have asked when I called Disney the other day but I was thrown as I didn't realise I couldn't directly move my package (including free DDP from this year) directly to next year. This is our first family holiday to Disney and our first time on site so we don't want to go unless it's right either.
