August 2020 fly drive

Had a quote from virgin for £6240 for 4 people on a 22 day fly drive. We are tied to school holidays, want to fly direct and use the virgin v room and bubble (should we get it) are perfect for our daughter(high anxiety and asd)
How can I get a cheaper price or is this a typical price?

We are members of virgin flying club so will need to take about a 5% discount off.

Thanks

No way on earth would I pay £1200pp for a fly drive, summer holidays or not. Wait until they’re released at 11 months. If it was £6000 or not go, I’d rather not go.

I ve looked on sky scanners and the prices for this holiday with Virgin is 801 each and then pricing Alamo on top is coming up as nearly 6000 any way.
I must be doing something wrong? Or is this the expected price?
No way we can afford that

We’ve always found BA to be competitive for fly drives. For August 2020 i’d be looking to book end Sept/Oct during their sale. However, if you want Virgin, you’ll probably pay similar to your quote - I can never get it to work financially with Virgin.

You’re looking too early. August is 16 months away and they haven’t released flight only prices. We’ve never flown direct to Orlando in August, always gone to Miami but never paid any more than £2500 for flights and a car for 3 weeks. If it was a choice between £6k and not going - we’re not going!

Do you think it would be better just to book flights and car separately so not a fly drive?
Virgin would be good but for that price i can’t juitify it.

You need to wait until mid or late April to see if prices come down or September when actual flights are released. I feel these prices will be a lot less. TUI was selling there fly drives for last August for £871pp direct from Manchester to Sanford plus Alamo full size car.

Decided to wait. Called virgin for a package quote (flights for the four of us,21 day villa and car) still £8500. Says villa is named but in emailed quote there’s no photos or name. No way we can stay in a villa we ve not seen.
So back to diy-found two villas we like (dibb one and one on a fb group) so will book one of those and wait for flights and do car separately

I would say it’s expensive. I think we’ve paid about £3000 this year with BA this year for 28 days flydrive. This was more than I wanted to pay but I’ve not seen much cheaper for out dates this year.
This is flying in and out of Fort Lauderdale though

Too early to book yet, you need to wait a good few months. Is there a specific reason you chose Virgin?
