withdrawning cash in orlando
hi all, there is a thread going on about having their pre-paid card cloned which has sparked a really useful conversation about what cards people take,
I didnt want to hijack that thread, but i do have a question about it Most people it seems take CC (fee free) and a bit of cash. The question is what do you do if you need to draw more cash out? Drawing cash out from a CC always seems to get the "no no" from web searches. how are you achieving this?

I take cash, pre paid and credit card, I try and work out my funds so that I don't ever have to withdraw cash from a machine.
Use the pre paid (fairfx) for meals etc, cash for tips and little things in the parks. last time my pre paid got a little low so I topped it up direct from my bank over that there tinternet thing. The credit card is more for emergencies/shopping, you can withdraw cash on it but have to pay it off as soon as you get home or you get stung.

I tend to take circa $900 each trip in cash.
If I am running a bit low I ration it and use the card more but at places I am happier with. For example I would never use a Card in a gas station or a Subway franchise etc. Quite happy using it in Publix or Restaurants where they bring the machine to you. I will never let them take my card away in a million years! If it gets cloned I would deal with it and use one of the others I have as I take 4 normally.

OP. Going back to your original question as I didn't really focus on it!
If I wanted cash urgently I would use a machine inside one of the Banks or even speak to a Teller. I wouldn't use a machine outside a shop etc. Easy if you have a car, not so much if not. Possible a machine in WDW or Universal? Footfall reduces the chance of scammers being able to fiddle with cashpoints.

We take money outta cashpoints at the wawa garages. They have never caused us an issue , they appear safe and you are in view of the cash desks so ya feel safe. They are simple and easy to use. And no charges. Win win
We have abbeys/santander zero account so we also get an excellent exchange rate Edited at 10:56 AM. |

I ration our cash - literally make up a little envelope for each day and keep it in the safe till that day. Doing it that way we hardly ever run out of cash except when we have planned to use card anyway.

I've always taken cash out for free from WaWa, but not sure if things has changed in the past few months.

free cashpoint at wawa .. they are inside the shop so I would imagine less likely to be tampered with and I use my Debit card
