Accommodation Venice Beach

Can anyone recommend a hotel close to Venice Beach, I don't want to go to expensive it's just for one night to put our heads down really,but obviously don't want a dump. Thanks in advance.

We stayed this month in the Best Western Plus Ambassador Suites on Commercial Court, just off I75. Very nice and comfortable hotel (my DW thought the bed was one of the best she had slept on!), with pleasant front desk staff. Breakfast was included, which was simple, but filling, and the coffee in the Lobby was very nice.

When we stayed it was nice and quiet, although a fair number of guests.

It's about a 5 mile easy drive from the hotel to the car park on West Venice Ave where the Historic area (shops and restaurants) is.

We stayed at the Jamaica bay inn. Was great.
