We had the same issue however they had put us on a flight two days later same return date took me 8 hrs on the phone wouldnt move me to the gatwick flight without paying more long story short I ran disney they got me on same day gatwick virgin flight pe both ways 500 cheaper than virgin charged me
3 hrs later virgin gave me a full refund with excuse they are only abliged to put me on the next available flight and I got a refund on the grounds they hadnt stated next flight from that airport as next available flight was gatwick very poor customer service!
