Police issue after esta completed

Estes were done last month but family member may now be in trouble with police. Do I have to go via visa route? Can I ring border control for advice? Thank you

Yeah, ring for advice as they might not be interested in some things. But if it drugs or something, you may have to take it further.

It all depends on what 'trouble' means.

If the answer to the following question will now be 'yes' then a visa application would be required

Have you ever been arrested or convicted for a crime that resulted in serious damage to property, or serious harm to another person or government authority?

Drugs... stupid mistake...but I guess everyone says that. Think visa will be declined as well as its just happened. VISA takes a while as well so the 5 months we have aren't going to be enough. Not sure what police will be doing yet but they will have to do something I'm sure. :-( along with all the other repercussions we won't have the family holiday we've been planning for 2 years.

Thanks for
Help though.

Things might mean that particular family member cannot
go, but why should
Everyone else
miss out, go without them, lesson learnt about consequences of actions.

I think I agree with previous poster just that family membercan't go. Why should everyone else suffer for their stupidity! I think states are quite tight on drugs too!

Drugs aren't a mistake. They are a poor choice. Significant difference. Hope the rest of family going to USA and them stuck at home makes them wise up.

DDD so sorry but could you go without this family member?
I think a drugs related offence means they can't enter the usa! I seem to remember thats why amy winehouse couldn-t go to the grammys when she won all those awards!

Re drugs

Hi
It depends what drugs eg. cannabis or small qty of class A/b drugs for personal use, and the situation, if the person acknowledges offence and is eligible for a caution ( which would happen during time at police station ) then this is not classed as a conviction, if charged at police station then court dates are usually set quite quickly so you would know one way or the other soon, so I would bide your time for a couple of weeks to see out come. If he has been been bailed then they are seeking knowledge of the drugs he had with regards to the charge, hope this helps, feel free to drop me a line if I can be of more help
