When we went they weren't taking bookings but that was not long after opening (Sept 17).

We went in October. It was very busy and despite staying in a Universal Hotel we still had to wait at least an hour before being seated. We were able to wait in bar area... We loved the food and the milkshakes were amazing. Absolutely huge! I definitely plan to return there.

Can you just stop by and buy the milkshakes without having to get a table? Don't fancy a long wait with the kids and only really want to try those amazing milkshakes, not have a meal

You can!

They have a separate area to sit and have milkshakes/sundaes. It's referred to as the "desert foundry"

It's this area to the left of the shop.
