On holiday now, DS has come out with Chicken Pox any advice?!
Hi all,
DS has woken this morning covered from head to tail in chicken pox! He had a few spots yesterday that we thought were probably bites but nope this morning he's covered in them. My sister has called BA for us who have advised we will need a fit to fly letter from a doctor before we can fly home. Can anyone suggest where we can go to get one and when would be the best time. We are due to fly back on Easter Monday. The spots are still just red dots no blistering yet so nowhere near the scab stage. Will there be anywhere open on Easter Sunday to get a fit to fly letter? If anyone has any experience please can you explain what you did? We are not onsite at disney now so not sure if we could extend stay if needed, we also have a car and phone is not working hence sister calling BA for me. Thanks for any help!

Oh no! I'd call your insurance and get advice from them.

We were in this position 2 years ago. We went to a Medicare centre on the 192 they gave us a day we could fly from. Also contact your insurance company asap.

Agree call your insurer as would say unlikely if the spots only came out today that you will get a fit to fly letter on Sunday. Sorry or possibly brilliant that you might be there another week!

Car hire was our biggest nightmare it worked out cheaper for hubby to take the car back and get another than it was to extend. We were insured with our bank lloyds, they sorted flight for 1 adult and the child, also accomodation. Everything else we paid for and claimed back. Quite a nightmare! Wishing you well, please stay in touch and let us know how your doing. If you need any help this end I'm happy to help.

When I had salmonella in Florida our insurance company sent a doctor to the room who then issued a fit to fly letter. I wouldn't have needed one but my husband rang virgin for advice and as they were then aware of it they insisted on a fit to fly letter otherwise I'd have got away with it. Best call your insurance and let them advise. Good luck hope you can get back ok as planned

That's true, 2 days after landing home our oldest came out in them. He was 9 and in a real mess bless him. So grateful it's all over. The American doctor was mortified we don't vaccinate against it. He put us in isolation 😁🙈

Oh dear. Hope you get it sorted soon.
What I will say is he shouldn't be going anywhere. Needs to stay put due to passing it on to others. Definitely stay out of the parks or where there are lots of people.
