Saw this today as above, the way out is not as bad as it looks as it has a 16 hour stop overnight in London, so a quick airport hotel and then direct flight the following morning.

Hope it helps someone.

I'm still waiting. 20/10 to 2/11 needed for me. Manchester or Gatwick. Not fussy! Prices are currently eye-watering and I refuse to pay £1k for economy flights (even if they are direct!).
I didn't book the direct BA WT+ flights for £3675 I saw just before Christmas (dithered too long and missed them) and am now really reluctant to spend more than that on economy seats!
I'm checking multiple times a day and getting more and more frustrated that the prices are just not budging! Someone please reassure me that they'll come down?!

I booked mine last month with Virgin, flying direct from Gatwick to MCO for £467, using miles plus money. Going on the 10th September coming back on the 27th, happy with that

I'm exactly the same - and the economy price is the same as PE from Manchester!

Im waiting. I have 17 nights booked CBR but have decided we only want 14 total so a little wiggle room. I looked june 2017 for Sept 2017 prices and found few directs from Manchester for 350 ish each return. I am holsing out for anything under 450 return. If I dont get those prices then we will wait till next year as we cannot afford much more as only left ourselves 5 months to save 😐😐

Still looking ourselves. We've only ever gone January so used to getting £370-£400pp direct from Gatwick with VA or BA... had no idea it was going to cost so much going in October!

My parents will only go direct with VA/BA from Manchester or London and the best price I've seen is £616pp for 10th Oct - 25th Oct and its gone up £100 since! Frightening!
