Universal when Halloween nights is on

We intend to just get tickets for Universal on this visit we are there for 2 weeks from 29th September to 13th October.Looks like Halloween nights might be on for quite a few nights over our stay and also Columbus Day. What time do both parks normally close over this period ( too early for any times to be published as yet )and would they normally be open abit later on the days it's not on. Trying to plan and maybe book 1 night in a hotel to get fastpasses to get the best from our days.

Universal only closes at 5pm on Hhn nights .ioa stays open.

Based on previous years HHN is not usually on on a Monday or Tuesday night, so if it were me I would book a hotel for a Monday night - that way you would have full use of the free express pass on both Monday and Tuesday.

Thanks that's what we were thinking,although I decided to look at 2017 crowds and it seems the first week of our stay are low figures so we might do well to go then. The hotel will cost us around �500 as we are 5 adults so we would need 2 rooms.

We looked into this for our trip. When it is just me and the missus it is in our favour to book a room as it works out cheaper than buying 4 (2 for each day) express passes. This next trip however there are 6 of us, and because people want their own rooms we would need 5 of them, meaning it works out more expensive than buying the express passes out right.

I did get a deal come up on hotels.com which let me add 5 adults in the room for �322 but I didn't want to book it and we didn't all get the passes.
