Hi Stug, Yes... I was caught out too. Went into the Meadowhall branch of Disney to buy them on 04.11, but they said there had been a delay receiving the tickets and to call in next week... I even have a print out of the prices they had in the shop of £149 and £169. I wanted to order them, but they don't do that... no worries I thought, offer is on until 02.12... then yesterday I got an email from Disney with offers on, went on to tickets and they were up to £206 ! ... not impressed Disney... AT ALL !

It's caught me out too  What is the point of saying an offer is extended when it obviously isn't?!

Well done those who got their tickets... I'm going to hang fire now and see what happens after christmas.

Hi

I called and spoke to Disney this morning and basically got nowhere. I had called them when they extended the initial offer to confirm that the deal would remain the same during the extension and they said nothing would change. This morning they said they received no prior notification of price changes and have no control over it - so take it or leave it!

I'm sure it is all down to the exchange rates.

Disney sell their tickets to their agents priced in $'s so if the ticket was say $315 when the exchange rates was 1.85 the cost in £'s would be £170. Now that the exchange rate has dropped to around 1.55 the price is £203.

Disney still expect the same price per ticket so unless the agents selling the tickets in the UK change the exchange rate they are using when they sell the tickets in £'s they will be seriously out of pocket.

Hope this makes sense.

I've also been caught out with this - when I saw that the offer had been extended to December I really thought they meant the price would be held until then. I think it was very misleading.

As others have said I'm sure the increase in price is due to the exchange rate but the prices they were quoting were in £s so I think it was a bit naughty to suddenly put the price up when they'd said the offer was being extended - different matter if the price was quoted in $s I think.

very poor PR indeed on Disneys part. I have emailed them to complain, but do not even expect the courtesy of a reply. Maybe if evryone sends in a complaint they might think twice before pulling such a stunt again.

Send your complaints to : 'service@disneystore.co.uk'
