Do you have to upgrade tickets before you use them or can you do it after ?

We just went for the basic AP as we have yet to do a waterpark with the kiddies being so small.

She did say if we wanted to upgrade from the AP to the premier this could be done at any time on a pro-rata basis.

I can understand about the water parks, we don't go either unless our eldest DS is with us. One tip though if you upgrade just one AP to the Premium you will get 20% (normal AP is 10%) off most items you buy at Disney.

It depends on which CM you speak to as to whether Ultimates can be upgraded as not all of them know which dollar value to use as the Ultimates are not in the US system for price comparison.

On a side note there are apparently over 400 possible ticket combinations available at Disney!

I don't suppose you noticed how much you were credited for the 7 day premium tickets?

According to the current prices the 7 day ticket should have been worth $400 and the DVC AP is $446, with the Premium AP at $558.

I'm trying to work out how much it will cost for my family of 6.

Managed to upgrade my 14 day ultimate to an annual pass with no problems at Magic Kingdom Guest Services with no problems last week. Cost around $200.

Thought I'd update this thread as I found it very useful. We upgraded our ultimates to premium ap's at Epcot last month and we were $213+tax (each) to upgrade.

We didn't upgrade until the end of the holiday in order to extend the use year but when they issued the ap's, they were back-dated to begin from when we first used our ultimate tickets. A bit annoying as we could have benefited from the shop discounts had we known that at the start.

Where did you go to upgrade? We're planning on doing the same when we go next week. Epcot is our 1st Disney park so we thought we'd try to upgrade there.
Have you also got an universal annual?

You can do it at Epcot for sure. It's possible at all four Disney parks and Downtown Disney Guest Services. I'm not sure whether you can do it at the waterparks or not.

But your Epcot plan will work fine

Can I do it at any ticket window outside the park or do I need to go into and park and go to guest services?

Look for the 'Will Call' window outside the park - we upgraded ours without any issue and simply paid the extra. We did this before first use as Christmas 2009 offered some big discounts for AP holders 20%
Savings on parking and shopping discounts make it worthwhile to upgrade asap.
We are now looking at the maths of upgrading just one ticket on our next trip for parking and shopping discount it is very very close and the absence of water park entry may just swing it in favour of the ultimate.
