Call 0800 252897 - its a uk free phone but gets through to usa. Ask to add your dollar express to a tour voucher and give them the dollar ref/ voucher number. They should add it for you there and then, its worked for me many times, however I have not done it this year.

i have booked with third party and got my DE number ,presume this is all but useless after reading the previous posts ?
Also grim to read how much Dollar cars have declined , really wish id known this before i booked .
Im not looking forward to what state of car awaits on my arrival now :angry:

To be honest I have had good and bad with all the big names. Hertz in San Francisco tried giving me a car with 60k on it earlier this year- and this is being a gold member where you are supposed to get the best in your size.

Alamo too gave me a car that had engine issues, it can happen to any of them really.

I would not worry, at least with Dolar you can pick the car so you dont have to accept what you are given.

Dollar and Thrifty are now owned by Hertz so at many rental locations the same franchisee will operate all three brands using exactly the same cars. Therefore the assumption that Dollar cars will be worse than better name brands no longer applies.

Similarly Alamo and National are owned by Enterprise, and Budget by Avis so they too share cars at many locations.
