Virgin Car Hire

Looking at all options currently as our flights will be available to book shortly including flydrive options.

Can anyone shed any light on the virgin car insurance as the basic does not seem to cover what is required and almost forced into upgrading this? Never booked car hire before so totally confused on this one.

The basic Insurance is worthless and in any type of bump will leave you seriously financially compromised. All the Companies offer a good upgrade but it's a necessary requirement

I agree with you. Can I assure you people including Dibbers do rely on the free Insurance. What they don't realise is that they only have very basic third party liability so in a multi vehicle injury bump they will end up bankrupt and homeless!

Honestly it may be cheaper to do a whole new car rental than pay the upgrade rates for the additional insurance.

Good advice from Yogi. I look at Virgin flydrives a few time a week - mainly for a laugh!

Their flights are at least 25% dearer than Virgin Atlantic and their car hire packages are at least 15% higher than booking a car through them as a DIY

However with BA its the opposite - some great deals!

I'm almost certain to go with BA flydrive from Glasgow via Gatwick, maybe inconvenient but price for flydrive with the correct insurance required is less than just Virgin / Thomas Cook flights direct.
