Additional driver only passed test in Jan

Hi, could I add dw on as an additional driver even though she has only passed her test 6 months ago or is there a timescale that you need to have held a full driving license for x amount of time before being allowed to drive in the US?

we booked alamo through us car hire and the T&C said licence must be held for 12 months for additional driver, lucky for us OH's licence will be 12 months and 6 days old when we arrive

you could try Car on the Drive, don't think they are as strict as other hire companies

Sounds like a big challenge for a newly qualified driver to me. Driving on the right, different lane etiquette, different traffic light sequence, 4-way stops, automatic transmission etc, etc.

Our DIL drove out here in Florida 1 year and 1 day after passing her test and had no problems what so ever the first time a Chevy spark the next time 3 months later grand Cherokee to be honest it's how the individual feels I did it the first time cause I had too after 15 years of visiting Florida bet DH wishes I hadn't as its cost a fortune since for my solo and all girls trips since
