Take Lysine tablets and your cold sores should be a thing of the past. My mum was so bad with them. They were debilitating to the point where she would be ill for weeks with them. It would always happen when she got back from holiday. I read about lysine and she has been taking it every day since for about the last 6 years and she has not had one since. She still gets the tingle but that is as far as it gets.

As a sufferer of cold sores for the past 40 years I feel your pain. I spend at lot of time at altitude in the alps where the sun is intense.
Lysine did nothing for me, complete waste of money and the tablets are huge, took them everyday for 9 months with no benefit. After a horrendous spate of cold sores over 3 months I got a prescription of Aciclovir tablets which has been life changing. You can also get them on a private paid prescription from Superdrug. Lipsalve I recommend Uvistat spf 50. |

Sadly Lysine did nothing for hubby, if he doesn't use lip salve the sun gives him cold sores, one so bad it left his mouth scarred. He uses Banana Boat SPF 45, $2.79 per tube, from Walgreen's, that said Dollar Tree's three pack of Chap Ice 15 Spf for $1 works well for him too, he simply applies that one more often.
