Tokyo flight prices
Hi everyone!
In the very early stages of booking a trip to Tokyo... as in that’s all we know that we want to do! 😂 Actually I’m lying there, I’ve done a bit of research on places to stay and Tokyo Disneyland/Disney Sea etc and think I have a fair enough grasp on on that for now! We’re looking at April 2020 as a starting point - stuck to the school Easter hols as I’m a teacher. My question is, does anybody have any rough prices for flights to Tokyo from London in April for 2 adults? From past experience or from something you’ve booked for this April? Flights haven’t been released for next April yet (well I’ve seen super expensive ones) and I’d love to know a rough price or some general prices that people have paid so I can look at a budget of some kind. Many thanks! |

We went in early May 2017. As far as I recall, economy flights with BA from Heathrow to Haneda were around £550. We used the Avios we had been hoarding along with an Amex 241 voucher and paid a similar amount to travel first class there and club class back. It's a long flight and we were able to get a decent amount of sleep outbound, which helped with the time difference.

Thank you for the replies! Gives me a rough clue around the Easter mark thanks. I was thinking it may be around £1000 per person but this sounds promising!

Bear in mind that it could be peak Hanami time and hotels and transport could be very, very busy. The unpredictable bit is the weather and how it affects the blossom but it is reasonably predictable.

we travel the day after our two break up in July. Adults were about £500 each, children slightly cheaper then we added booked seating as we wanted to choose our seats on the planes beforehand. Edinburgh to Schiphol to Narita. Then Haneda to CDG to Edinburgh.

Thanks guys! These prices make me feel quite hopeful I’ll be able to secure a decent price... I’m thinking looking this far ahead for 2020 isn’t the best idea as they’re all pretty expensive.

we wanted to fly in July, I started looking in July the year before. I booked in August. I basically checked Skyscanner almost daily. We were limited by departure airport so a direct flight wasnt possible for us.
Initially I played about with dates to see what was possible as a cheap price and found it was about 2k for 4 of us, that was my target. Prices were up to 2.5k if we would have purchased in september (and 2.9k now) - not a huge window for cheaper flights (and July is hardly peak season for Japan) Edited at 07:51 AM. |
