We took the train from Durham into Kings Cross, easy 2 min walk to St Pancras and boarded the train from Bedford which called at LGW.

What time of day are your flights?

As long as you wouldn't end up travelling at peak times then I'd probably go for it. The trains are regular between all those stations so I don't think you'd ever be hanging around for ages waiting for a train.

We have done it coming from Milton Keynes changing at Clapham Junction. Its a bit of a pain but DH never wants to drive coming home off a long haul night flight as he doesn't sleep.
Wouldn't do it if we had to go via the tube though.
We've also done it from Swindon changing at Reading which was easier.
Had delays several times and in fact been able to claim back half the cost of our tickets.

It’s fairly easy to get from London Bridge to Gatwick and you can pick up luggage trolleys at Gatwick station. It can all be done using oyster or contactless as well.

At that time of day it won’t be so bad with luggage but someone may need to stand near it if not.

Have a great holiday
