Do you think WDW will also do this?

Disneyland are allowing people to book a free reservation into Galaxys Edge. Would be good if WDW does the same but I’ve not heard anything with regards to it happening.

Guests staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel between May 31 and June 23, 2019 will receive a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during their stay. One reservation per registered Guest. Each Guest is required to have valid theme park admission. If the hotel reservation is cancelled, the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservation will be cancelled. Access to certain experiences in the land are subject to capacity and other factors. Additional restrictions apply.

I think they will see how it goes. The reservation system is having teething problems at the moment from looking at some of the groups on Facebook. Obviously it would be more problematic in wdw as there are far more onsite hotels. So I guess time will tell

I think WDW will need a totally different approach. It has many more hotels that Disneyland so this offer is open to a relatively small number of people staying at that hotel which is sold out! I suspect it will be a pre booked FPP which will run out to both ride the attractions AND enter the land. I’m actually glad not to be going when it’s in it’s first 6m as I think it will be chaos. Actually I think that may still be the case next summer...

This is what I'm thinking. I'm not sure how it would work with WDW given the amount of on site hotels. I'm sure they won't make it chargeable though as that would be unfair if Disneyland is free.

Disney have said there are no plans to offer a similar system in Florida, plus there will be no fast pass for the rides either. The reason Disneyland are doing it for the first few weeks is Disneyland have a lot more annual pass holders than Disney World and blackout dates don’t start until later in June. It’s been rumoured for a few years now that there are over 1m Disneyland annual pass holders. So once the reservation system ends on 23rd June blackout dates on most annual passes start for the Summer.

Disneyland do plan a virtual wait system to get into the land after this for when area hits capacity, which I imagine Disneyworld will also do. They haven’t released the details of this but it’s expected you will need the app and have to be actually in the park to join.
