Recommendations of hotels in Kyoto please - or where is a good location to stay?

We have just booked our hotel for Kyoto - The Solaria Ni≈≈≈≈etsu Hotel ..
this will be our first trip to Japan .. I�m hoping I�ve made a good choice .. I have the option of free cancellation if we change our mind!

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency - next to the temple with 1,001 statues and one of the bus routes, so you can use the bus system to get to many of the other sights. The hotel also sells daily bus passes.

we have booked an airbnb whole house near Kyoto central station and AEON mall.

We stayed near Fushimi Inari (Airbnb). If you are planning to climb to the top, being nearby is handy because you get a head start on the crowds (so more pictures of Tori gates without other people in them!) We also had two stations very nearby - Inari on the JR Nara line, which is just two stops to Kyoto main station, and also Fushimi-inari on the Keihan line, which links directly to Gion. It was a good location for us.

Thanks all - have decided to stay at the Cross Hotel - had good reviews and in good location downtown.

We stayed at their sister property in Osaka and it was fine.
