Mobile Just booked St Lucia

After going round the houses I found a good deal on coconut bay with BA for Feb half term. Delighted to be heading back to the Caribbean!

We went there for my husbands 50th about 4 years ago. Stayed in the adult section and loved it. Food was great. We went in January and it was very windy. Wouldn’t put me off though. Would love to go back one day

The restaurant choice looks very good. Whilst I’m sad we aren’t going back to Antigua I think my daughter will enjoy this more due to slides and lazy river!

We really enjoyed St Lucia when we went.

I miss our Caribbean holidays, we’re yet to find a deal I’m happy with for school holidays. Before dd started school we went every year for the last two weeks of May, which included the half term week. Since then whenever I’ve looked we’d be looking at double for a week what we’d have paid for two 😱 so Florida has worked out cheaper for us (we don’t do parks that week but Naples or somewhere similar).

Can I be nosy and ask what deal you got?

Sure. So it’s 2 adults one child age 9 and we’ve paid £4200 for week with Ba holidays

We paid £4400 for Antigua all inclusive this year.

I found Dominican has some amazing prices (3kish) and I was happy with that but hubby wanted more true Caribbean island and where we can go out and see things.

Did a cruise stop at St Lucia and loved it. The snorkelling right off the beach from Sugar/Jalousie beach is spectacular!

We stayed at Coconut Bay in October Half Term 2010.

We loved the hotel and the staff.

The beach is not the best, quite a lot of seaweed, but that didn't bother us as the pools were great.

We actually ended up staying a few days longer as we were stranded there in Hurricane Tomas.

The island was damaged and the north cut off from the south and the airport was shut.

The hotel staff were amazing and we would love to go back sometime.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but what currency did you take when staying in St Lucia ?

We are on All Inclusive In St Lucia but will hire a car for a few days to get out and about.
I travel to Barbados every 6 months and know they prefer Bajan Dollars over US Dollars, but will take them.
I’m tempted just to take US dollars to St Lucia as we are then travelling up to Texas for work., but willing to be told other wise.

We only stopped there for a day but US dollars were fine everywhere. You might get change in Caribbean dollars though

We’ve never had any trouble using US dollars in St Lucia.
