Last minute
Has anyone ever gone to Orlando last minute? As in a few weeks time? We are going in August and doing Disney etc but would like to go out in the next few weeks and just do gatorland and smaller things like that. See more of Orlando. Has anyone done this as cheap as it can be? Am I better of waiting till the last moment and book?

We went once with just 3 weeks notice. Found an amazing deal for £1250 for 5 of us (2 adults, 2 children and 1 infant) for flights and hotel. This was back in 2008 but the deals are still out there if your not restricted about when you can travel. We are here at the moment and paid just £230 each for return flights.
We did do WDW during our last minute trip in 2008 but didn’t do anything else. Obviously there was no time to plan but that actually made it a very relaxed and enjoyable holiday. Edited at 02:55 PM. |

we did it a few years ago a week before flying. we decided the week before that, made various arrangements with work/oncall/stuff and checked our friends villa was available and then booked the flights about an hour after that weeks tui flight had left the ground (the next weeks flight price dropped by a further £50pp after this time)
once flights were booked, i confirmed the villa, booked insurance, car hire, tickets over the next day or so. if you're flexible where and exactly when you can fly from there can be some amazing bargains with the likes of TUI bear in mind though that leaving things that late you run the risk of the flight(s) selling out and you not going on holiday at all! hth |

You could stay at the Rosen at Pointe Orlando for a week with two children (under 11) for £507 per person including direct flights from London for only £507 per person.
If you can travel outside of school holidays and the kids are under 11 then you'd be able to grab a bargain. I only checked out lastminute.com and was surprised by what I saw. Makes a yearly pass worth thinking about eh? |

I know one dibber, doing a solo trip booked his flight the same day as he flew, sorted his accommodation at the airport before he left I think...
