That's a very fair summation. Younger children probably won't find a lot there to keep them interested, but Peterbrooke Chocolatier is a great sweet-shop and there's a Monkey Joe's indoor activity centre not far off the main drag on Lake Howell Ave. There's a community playground on S. Denning Drive, but that's probably not going to excite them after the theme parks! The boat ride is great, though.

So is there a farmers market at both Winter Park and Winter Garden? I thought they were the same thing! Which one would you say was best?

I think that this thread veered off to Winter Garden a few posts back. So I don't feel guilty saying that after our usual WGV visit for B&BW we did wander up to Newton Park and a stroll round Lake Apopka. Saw a few 'gators right at the edge. We then drove back through Plant Street but didn't stop but we've marked it for a visit in November. Mick Edit WGV of course not WVG

Yes, both places have their own Saturday morning market (8am-1pm), which is a mixture of food, fresh produce and arts/crafts. The Winter Park version used to be the bigger event, but Winter Garden is rapidly catching up as the town becomes increasingly popular. Both are now pretty substantial and either one would be a good choice

I think you'll definitely enjoy Plant Street, Mick, especially the Market (and Crooked Can Brewery!). You'll also see a lot more gators if you take the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive just a few miles north: sjrwmd/lands/recreat...hwIVyJAsMCvq1o

We did the Scenic Boat Ride again a couple of days ago.. it really is a fab way to spend an hour .We even saw a nesting osprey this time on the decorated tree on one of the lakes.

That looks like Lake Maitland (and the same nest we saw last month!).

The Brit Guide 'Welcome Pack' with the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce is now fully developed, so be sure to visit the Welcome Center on Lyman Avenue at the start of your visit. The Center is open Mon-Fri from 8.30am-5pm, and Sat from 9am-2pm.
