It is typical Disney speak, clear as mud! I have come to understand it that the hold is whatever I have spent plus $100 but that isn't what the OP has stated because the example hold would have been $235. No issues really with the 5 day thing, I'd have to go some to spend $1500 in 5 days anyway, we use our Suntrust card, my main concern is if the Banks start to " block" cards because they suspect fraud- we've had Suntrust's system go down on holiday once & it's not a good feeling
Might just have to go back to the old way of paying - cash !

It was most peculiar for us in March when we did a Villa stay. We used our Bands from the year before and the AP got us free parking etc.
But at the end of a meal it was strange to use a credit card and not just do the Band on their handheld device.

The 5 day thing doesn't say it will only be applied if you've hit the resort limit though. It says that your current balance will be cleared every 5 days.

L2P I can live with that tbh, we don't pay ours off generally, last year was the first year really where we used our room charging near enough all the time. Hopefully it's just teething problems & the Hold is really just your balance plus $100 as let's face it, how easy is it to spend over $100 every day! I mean a TS meal for 2 is generally over that.

I might link my Halifax clarity to Apple Pay. I take it won’t get transaction fees charged doing it this way.
I don’t really want money on hold, seems like it’s not very clear!

It is cleared every 5 days, even if you have made a payment, if you then go and spend any more then they will clear your account down. The limit doesn’t matter. I paid off ours and then added another $77 which was then taken in day 5

Seems to be some consternation on one of the other threads, it appears the way things are happening are:
Initial Hold $100
Spend $100 another $100 hold
Day 5 assuming spending $100 a day
$500 charged to card but also $500 in holds that can take 7-10 days to be released so very easy in a 10-15 night stay you could have $1500 in "Hold" It's a system that is obviously not designed for long stays & not a problem if the 7-10 days didn't apply. I would much rather have it based on an in credit system, I check in they secure $xxx until I spend it or refund the remaining on check out.
