Lost the Dining Plan
Hi everyone, I apologise if this is a silly question. I booked a holiday with Virgin and had the Disney Dining Plan included. I amended my booking to add an extra room on, still 4 people on the booking and Virgin told me that I have lost the dining plan as the offer isn’t on anymore. Is this correct?

It might be. You would need to check Virgins terms. I would have thought though that you’d keep the dining plan on one room and the second would be booked under the free nights offer. You can’t add a room (with any company) after the offer has ended and get free dining.

Yes. You can only make amendments to an expired offer and keep the original offer when you book direct with Disney.
They should’ve pointed that out to you before making the amendments though as obv you’d have just booked a 2nd room elsewhere. |

Thank you both. I think I will contact Virgin again and double check.

Virgin should have made it clear to you and maybe offered you a stand alone hotel booking (or of course you could have booked a single room at same resort elsewhere and kept the free dining on original booking.
Even Disney seem to have changed their amendment rules, but they do give you warning it will lose you free dining so you can reconsider before they make the actual changes. My dealings with VH are they are not always clear on their rules (and when asked prior to booking) they are usually a bit vague on the negatives. I hope that you get sorted.

I would definitely contact them and make sure you have kept dining plan on the original booking. If not I would make a complaint and tell them to reinstate it. As said, it should have been made clear to you what your options were when adding another room.

it looks like they've done a full cancel and rebook, but without fully explaining the implications of doing so is a bit out of order. If they dispute it I would ask for a recording of the phone call, unless of course it was done instore. Hopefully something will be sorted. x

Yes I called Virgin this afternoon. Because I amended the booking to add another room it’s right that I lost the dining plan. The lady advised that Disney are really strict with amendments. It’s annoying but I’d rather have 2 rooms and no dining plan, I just know for next time not to book the holiday that way again! It’s my error, Virgin were really good at dealing with my query.
