This does show how their customer service is actually worthless and non existent. Get the phone call recording and go from there. They haven’t been so keen to let you have the recording/transcript of the conversation.

I agree with others that you should obtain a copy of the recording/transcript and take this further. However, I do understand that this is just more work and sometimes it's easier and best just to let it go.

In the meantime, 2 rooms for 10 nights at All Star Music with 14 day tickets booked through Attraction Tickets comes to £5,666.50. 4 adults flying from Heathrow with a stop in Dublin is £2,244.48. This includes 1 checked bag each, so flying with just hand luggage would be cheaper. This brings you to a total of £7,910.98.

Cheaper than Virgin, and there may be other deals out there DIY that are just as good if not better.

Direct flights with BA with a bag were £580 each when I checked yday.

OP, if you have Virgin points and don’t mind Tampa, there are reward flights for 20k plus £280 each.

That's a good price, and takes the total up to just slightly less than £8,000. So still cheaper than Virgin.

I think it’s probably important to remember for the OPs peace of mind that this was just one QS credit that was lost and what was gained was a discount. It’s not been a whole dining plan. Personally I would continue to enjoy planning my holiday while sending an email higher up the chain expressing my disappointment that I was not give the entire picture when I made the change. While it’s annoying that VH have done this it’s not enough monetary value for me to keep stressing about or being angry about but I wouldn’t want to let it go entirely.

I think some acknowledgement of their mess up would be good , although I have a feeling that this is their practice - to get more sales/commission. I would definetly get on their social media to make others aware so don’t make same mistake should they need to add in a room to do it independently. And I would want a copy of phone call/transcript- I wouldn’t let that go as it seems they maybe hiding something.
It is 10 days of 1qsdp meal per day for 4 people, so 40 meals. Also did they get discount on rebooking the new rooms?

Have they not acknowledged your complaint?

I assumed you were complaining that they hadn't informed you that you would lose the dining plan if you added an extra room and thus were missold your amended booking. That's the main point you should be pushing.

Virgin can then make it up to you for not telling you this by, for example, choosing to add the dining at no additional cost. Or offering an resort upgrade at no cost. Or something else.

I agree. Although I would still want an acknowledgement from VH that they made a mistake even if, ultimately, nothing else came from this.

You make a good point, but would you still hand over thousands of your hard earned to Virgin after all this?

Not really 4 x 1 QS as they would have lost the credits for whoever was in the second room.

Yes absolutely which is why I would continue to escalate.

No but I wouldn’t book a package with them anyway and I definitely wouldn’t make a knee jerk decision to cancel and end up worse off. The OP currently has a trip booked at a price they are comfortable with. They should definitely get an acknowledgement of the poor service but I don’t think they should let it ruin the build up.
