Is it too early to start talking Christmas?

As the title says really.

I’m a planner type person. Lots of lists and spreadsheets.

We are away this Christmas for the first time ever in my life.
But it could either be on a cruise or Florida. I’m 99% sure at this point it’s changed to Florida.

I always do Christmas stockings for the kids and I’d still want to keep this while on holiday so I was going to put some things in a little stocking on the boat and the rest at home for when we get back. Now we are doing Florida it changes everything I was going to put in the stocking.

Originally it was
Necklace
Clip on earrings
Perfume
Magazine
Chocolate/sweets
Face mask
Nail varnish
Hot chocolate
Chocolate lollys
PJs
But these aren’t things we would use in Florida, plus have to be careful with baggage allowance.

Husband says we will just buy stuff from Walmart when we get there a few days before but the planner in me is horrified at not having things ready and winging it.

So apart from a teddy, bath bomb(we don’t have a bath at home and the villa will) and sweets to go in their stocking from Walmart I’m all out of ideas.
Whatever we do needs to be useful or things we would have bought there anyway as I don’t want to fetch back stuff.
Only present for the tree I have so far is inflatable pool games- so any ideas would be great.

And if all this is too soon 😂 I’ll come back to it in a few months.

Are they due a ‘tech’ /phone upgrade by Christmas?
The other thing might be to just do vouchers for gifts on Your return.

Unfortunately we do a shuffle around with phones in September. Hubby gets the new one, I get his, one of the girls gets mine then the year after the other girl gets mine, so as to keep it fair. I’d have to see the spreadsheets who’s having mine this year but it’s not something I’d be able to use for Christmas.

It’s the few presents under the tree and especially the stocking as that’s our main tradition that I want to keep alive while away. They wouldn’t use vouchers or money anyway I realised that a few years ago but they always get some for savings

I'm with hubby, either wing it or arrange for someone, can't remember who the Dibber is, to receive some online parcels for you and save them until you arrive.

Can anyone remember who it is who does the parcels?

I can’t see why you can’t stick with your original list - it will hardly weigh much and there’s no stress then with needing to buy tat from Walmart - you could always buy the sweeties from there but take the other stuff from home

It’s just cos the original list was for the cruise. They will wear perfume and jewellery on the boat but not at Florida so just seemed pointless taking it. They will just be under the tree for when we get back.

Maybe it will just be a stocking full of spice 😂

Never too early to start planning.
I expect you have your tree up already ? 🤣🤣

I think you need to make an entry on the ‘ is it weird that I’ thread I did a bit back ref the phone spreadsheet- that’s next level 😀

I take it the kids don’t believe in father Xmas any more ?
I which case tell them that the stocking will be waiting for them when you have a 2nd Xmas back home . And let them choose where you go on Xmas day as their Florida equaivalent of a stocking
