If you're out in Essex, we have some beautiful coastal walks; Mersea Island, Burnham on Crouch, and even Bradwell to see St Peter on the Wall Church (one of the oldest in Britain). Tollesbury is also interesting. There's 75 miles of salt marsh coast, marked by trails, take your pick; visitmaldondistrict.co.u...rsh-coast.aspx

If you come to Oldham to see Latics play, head up to Saddleworth, some lovely walks around there, an easy walk along the canal and across the stepping stones in Uppermill, you can go from Uppermill to Greenfield, Uppermill circular, walk up to Pots & Pans, Chew Valley and go for a walk around Dovestones Reservoir or (although it's tough going) if you're feeling really energetic you can always walk up to Indians head there
Also, don't know nowt about Scottish league but I would say if you're close enough go along the Fife Coastal walk, some beautiful views along that, you could start at St Monans head to Pittenween or carry on to Anstruther & stop off for their famous fish and chips (I've never had it as don't eat fish!) and then head back to St Monans Also from Leven to Lower Largo (where we stay when on holiday in Fife) have a cheeky one in the Railway and then head back to Leven, you may even be lucky enough to see seals whilst walking along the beach
